Today I Asked A Question
(late post)
I can't really reflect on class 08/22 because I was absent, but we have to post our big question, this is really hard because I am someone who has many questions. My big quetion today would have to be why do people hide how they really feel? I am not talking about if you feel like punching someone and you go on ounching them, but more like tell people what you want from them. What I mean is when you want someone to ask you if you'd like to join them, ask you for your opinion, or how you feel, without hiding and feeling selfish.

Hack To School Night
1. This class is about learning how to improve our reading/writing skills and how to be a better person off and online.
2. The easiest part of this class is being able to do work online straight from ny phone or tablet.
3. The hardest part of this class would probably have to be trying not to give a bad response.
4. In this class I learned that no one is really entitled to their own opinion, how to create a blog and make it ou own, memorize things better, the words Diction and Syntax, and many more things.
5. My big question is why do people hide how they really feel?

How I Read
My reading experiences are typical, all through elementary and junior high reading boring stuff was always like hard thing to do. I have had good times though, when I read things I find interesting, times goes by crazy fast. I normally like to read books about real life situations or where things take a crazy turn of events, I also like more types of books but this is all I can think of.

How I Memorize Things
I memorize stuff like 'The Richard Cory Poem' by actually taking the time to study it. I would spend days, reading it, reciting it, recording myself reading it and playing that instead of listening to music. Memorizing stuff can be hard but it is worth it, if you have to. I would recite it by reading it aloud. Sometimes I would practice in car rides and recite it to my little siblings and go on where I messed up.

Quick Class Vocabulary
- apathetic- uncaring
- tone- author's attitude toward the audience, topic, or characters
- diction- collection of words an author uses
- convey- take one place to another
- syntax- the way an author arranges words
COMMUNICATION STRATEGITIES OF A HACKER
The mentor's use of a diction, syntax and tone effectively convey his message because repeats some phrases every then and there to add feeling and to show his bold attitude. The mentor is clearly not happy with what was going on. The message of story is that you can’t stop people from learning even you think they’re criminals for exploring new things. The mentor uses certain words to show her anger but like in a calm manner, if you can understand. When I was done reading it, I was left like in a woah, because it was suprising at how chill they are as they said bad words.

I AM NOT [?] ENTITLED TO MY OPINION
Quick Notes:
-"rights must be honored, opinions don't get us to the truth and claiming a right our opinion doesn't get us closer tot the truth"
-loco parenti - gives school the role of your parents
-syllogism- simpliest form of arguement
-"language is the way we make connections with others, authors choose words that blend in with the way they want the reader to feel"
response:
I can understand that when people say " I'm entitled to my own opinion " that means end of discussion in most cases and that makes sense because that seems so natural. I think it is crazy how everyone sees it that way because that is not what seems to be the main focus. The main focus is knowing the truth, so who wins the arguement? No one is actually entitled to their own opinion because no one knows what the truth is, we don't know who is right or wrong. There can't be a sudden cut off because we all deserve the TRUTH.

Thoughts on The Right to Your Opinion
At first I was starting to think I would learn all my rights ,but I was looking at the wrong article. I found this article to be rather interesting because it is true when people state there own opinion and we have to think like they are right. I also found it interesting how some people expect us to agree with them knowinh they might be wrong. I don't think I ever knew, we needed to back up our statement with evidence. I didn't understand all things ,but what I learned from this is that we all have rights to state our opinion whether right or wrong. Some opinions aren't all there, they might sound like one thing and mean another.

Thoughts on The Socratic Method- The Socratic Seminar
I am dumbfounded. It says to come to class prepared to defend my answer. I am lost, maybe I should be rereading the article again. I like what I was reading, I managed to read everything part by part. I agree on focusing on the reality that people are living right now instead of thinking stuff like "one day l'll make it on Forbes Magazine like a billionare".
Criticism is something everyone hates and I believe people have ALOT to say when they're angry. Like when people talk bad or spread rummors about people, they say so much, it's crazy. I don't know where this is going ,but from what I am getting out of this is that instead of talking about what your waiting to happen for you in the future, you have to think about the now and work towards what you want.
