AS WE GROW, WE CHANGE

What makes a character dynamic? I would say that a character that changes the way they think is a dynamic character. Guy Montag is a dynamic character. The first way the character, Guy Montag changes is when he questions himself on his happiness. This happened when Clarisse McClellan asked "are you happy?". The second way Montag changes is when his wife tries to commit suicide and when he called for an emergency. In this situation in the place of professional M.D.s like expected, Montag is surprised to see that emergency operator sent two handymen, he says "We get these cases nine or ten a night. Got so many, starting a few years ago,... You don't need an M.D., case like this; all you need is two handymen, clean up the problem in half an hour. Look". That is when he realized alot of people in that society are wanting to get out. The third way Montag changes is when he witnessed a woman die with her books on a routine call for the firemen. The woman would budge when it came to her books and that was that last straw for Monatg. This character changes because he realizes how bad the world he lives in is. This character's reflect the overall theme and tone of the book because actually living in a world with no books or value of life/living shows us how bad the world can be. This world in the book symbolizes a world with no ideas or inner thoughts.
