The Great Gatsby consistently metions the concept of the American Dream throughout this story. After reading this book, the readers would define the American dream as a goal that no matter how hard you work at being successful (in America) sometimes things just simply don't work out. Like they say "who said life was fair". Regardless of that we must never give up on our dreams, although in order to accomplish something we must set a plan.
